A product that needs more hype - Seventeen eyeliner review

This post is all about a product that I personally think is an undiscovered beauty, and that is Seventeen's Tattoo liquid eyeliner.

Having tried everything from Rimmel's scandaleyes felt tip liner, Maybelline's gel liner and MAC's blacktrack, to Eyeko's skinny mini eyeliner, I was looking for something that really did the job- this does.

The packaging of this product promises '48 hour wear' and of course I haven't tried that length of time, but this eyeliner will definitely last as long as you need, or longer. The eyeliner applicator is thin enough to be super precise, and the formula doesn't dry out for a long time after pruchase; roughly six months. The most amazing thing about this eyeliner, however, is the pricetag. This retails at £4.99, which I think is incredibly affordable for the quality you are getting.
With most products there will be some downsides and although personally these have no impact on my love for the product, I will tell you a few possible problems in case they are important to you.
Unfortunately, the very runny formula that helps the product from drying out, also means that on application, you need a very steady hand and plenty of time or this could get messy- this is no 'on the go' or last minute eyeliner. Also, due to the durability of the product and the fact that it stays put for at least 20 hours (yes that's tried and tested, cue long haul flight and time difference), it is difficult to remove the liner from your eyes at the end of the day. I would say that my normal Simple make up wipes and Liz Earle Cleanse and polish take too long and too much rubbing to remove this, but Bioderma which is my all time favourite skin product, works perfectly with this.

So, it's time Seventeen got some credit, give one of their products a try- or better yet this eyeliner!

How to avoid post-christmas blues

I know just like I'm sure many others do, it's difficult to stay motivated and positive when Christmas is over, and it's so easy to slip into that lazy, mopey state of mind. This post is a little reminder of the things to look forward to in the next few months.

1. January sales. Who could deny the excitement of finding that lust-worthy Michael Kors handbag at a discounted price, or the thrill of a new pair of shoes that you just couldn't afford before christmas when they were full price? Christmas was all about giving and now it's time to treat yourself to a little something.

2. The hope of snow. Here in England, we tend to get the first snowfall in early January, and the hope of a beautiful frosted London skyline and plenty of photo opportunities makes me warm inside.

3. New Year's Eve. Celebrating New Year's Eve with friends, family and loved ones is such an enjoyable occasion, and the momentous countdown to midnight is always great fun.

4. A fresh start. On the 31st of December, we will be welcoming 2014. This will be a chance to fulfil new goals, develop new interests, meet new people and see new places. Personally, I like to decide on something from the previous year that I feel I should improve or make more of an effort with and work on this in the New Year.

Hope this helps you stay positive!
